What a week for ecumenism! Of all places, the Interfaith train made a stop in the Holy City for a meeting between leaders of different religious groups, including the Patriarchate of Jerusalem. Gone are the days of Patriarch Diodoros (1923-2000), who condemned the ecumenical movement his predecessors praised. Since his death, both his successors have been involved in ecumenism. Not even the JP is a safe haven in official Orthodoxy anymore. And the excuse? Instability in the region, of course.
