Patriarch Irinej meets with directors of Belgrade schools

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch made a regular annual reception yesterday, on October 11, 2011 in the Serbian Patriarchate for directors of primary and high schools from the territory of the Archbishopric of Belgrade-Karlovac.
This gathering was organized by the Committee for religious education of the Archbishopric of Belgrade-Karlovac whose which president is His Grace Vicar Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Faith and Diaspora, representatives of the Serbian Army and the City of Belgrade.
The gathered directors was addressed by His Holiness Patriarch Irinej who pointed out the importance of the meeting of representatives of the Church and education - two institutions on which the Serbian society greatly dwells.
On the behalf of the directors of schools Patriarch Irinej Gordana Markovic, director of the primary school from Begaljica expressed her gratitude.
Patriarch Irinej gave a book to the guests "Secret of the school" of Svetomir Bojanin and the album with photographs on the work of the Committee for religious education, as well as a small pocket calendar for following 2012.
