On crucial questions of the Faith, it is precisely, in the words
of Patriarch Anthimos VI and the other Patriarchs with him, the
“protectors of the Faith”, that is, “the people themselves, who always desire
to preserve their faith unchanged and in agreement with the Fathers” when
confronted with challenges to the life
of the Church.
